Building and maintaining good, long-term working relationships is integral to our continued success as a party band. One of our most valued patrons is Lord March who, together with the team at Starlight Design, hosts numerous high profile events and parties throughout the year at Goodwood. We’re lucky enough to have played many times at Glorious Goodwood, The Festival of Speed, and our favourite, Goodwood Revival.
This year’s Revival Theme was The Battle of Waterloo – whilst you wouldn’t normally find an Abba song in our repertoire there was only one song we could open with! Starlight design spectacularly transformed an aircraft hangar into the most breathtaking banqueting hall fit for George III himself. They even staged a battle with horses and cannon fire from one side of the diners to the other. Band, staff and guests were suitably attired, and the party was victorious!
With the summer in the UK behind us, a trip to Athens to play at a corporate event was a welcome excuse to dig out our shorts and flip flops!
It was a breath-taking party set in the middle of the banked cycle track of the Olympic Velodrome. Over 3000 individually lit candles were placed around the spectator seating, making a beautifully simple, yet stunning atmosphere, in which to stage an event.
We were fortunate enough to have our good friend and legendary sound engineer Robin Fox along for the trip too. Robin has mixed sound for THE very best artistes, including Stevie Wonder, Pink Floyd and Rod Stewart to name just a few. It’s a privilege to have an engineer of this caliber as part of the Madhen Productions team!
