RED NOSE DAY GALA BALL

Following our performance at last year’s TPRG conference (Theo Paphitis Retail Group) we were delighted to be invited to perform alongside headliner Gary Barlow, Fleur East and Jason Manford at this year’s Red Nose Day Gala Ball (#RNDGalaball) hosted by Theo Paphitis, entrepreneur and Chairman of Robert Dyas and Ryman. Comedic, musical and sporting stars alike took part in aid of Comic Relief, at London’s iconic Troxy.

The Troxy London

The Troxy is a venue we’ve enjoyed performing at many times in the past. We currently have two further bookings there in April and June already. It’s a stunning venue situated just outside the City of London, with great in-house PA, lighting and crew, so it’s always a pleasure to return.

The Gala Ball was also something of a reunion! This was the second time we’ve shared the billing with Gary Barlow (2015 Travel Cousellor’s Awards). Wind the clock back to the mid-90’s hay-day of boyband pop when Take That and Bad Boys Inc competed for chart positions and front covers of Smash Hits. We may not have quite the same degree of commercial success as Mr Barlow but we’re more than proud to hold our own sharing a stage with the UK’s finest!

Fleur East

We also shared the billing with (relative newcomer) Fleur East (X Factor 2014 runner-up) who opened the Red Nose Day Gala. “It was a great crowd in tonight,” said Fleur East, “I’m thrilled to be part of a night that was so much fun and will ultimately help the people who need it most, in the UK and across the world.” Only six days previously Fleur had performed ahead of us at the Joseph Foote Brain Tumour Charity Ball in Birmingham with the Brain Tumour Charity.

Jason Manford and Martin Bayfield

Jason Manford was the guest host and Martin Bayfield was the guest auctioneer. Not only have we performed at many of the same sporting events alongside Martin but we were honoured to be asked to play at his wedding a couple of years ago.

Finally, we got to share a fabulous night with of the UK’s finest – DJ Rosie. This was the third of four consecutive nights we worked alongside Rosie. Her talent behind the decks is matched by her infectious joyfulness – a much needed tonic after a series of late nights, early mornings and the trials of international travel! (Despite French Air-traffic controls best attempts we made it to every single event in good shape!)

All in all it was a stunning night which raised a ton of money for Comic Relief.

“Tonight has been a truly fantastic evening,” said Theo Paphitis, “I’ve never seen so many Red Noses in one place! The money raised here tonight will make a dramatic difference to those helped by Comic Relief.”
