Madhen and Ella Henderson

It (was) the most wonderful time of the year!

December has traditionally been the busiest month of the year for Madhen. That was until June, September, October and November caught up – not that we’re complaining! What December does is condense all our bookings into the first 2 ½ – 3 weeks, with a week off for Christmas before New Year’s Eve.

London party venues

This Christmas bought its usual array of Awards dinners, private birthday parties, and of course corporate Christmas parties. Notably we performed for the 4th consecutive year for the “News On The Block” Awards held at Wembley Stadium. This was followed swiftly by an event held at the equally iconic Natural History Museum, where we shared a stage with the talented Ella Henderson.

Just when we think we’ve probably performed at every London venue going we also found
ourselves at three new ones (at least new to Madhen!) Finsbury Sq, The Museum Of London and Studio Spaces near Tobacco Dock – all fantastic. We hope we get to return in the near future.

We also managed a quick trip to Jersey (our 20th visit to the Chanel Island!) to work with the lovely team at Delta Productions.

Our final pre-christmas event was for Virgin Holidays – our 3rd event this year for them, together with Dianne, James and Ryan from GCM who really know how to throw a party!

Our ‘sister’ band “CandyAmp”

In previous years we’ve had to turn away a lot of work by simply not being available. Being able to offer our ‘sister’ band “CandyAmp” has proved to be a great success.

Their schedule took them to Geneva (Herbalife) before performances at Wembley Stadium, The Grange St Pauls, II Temple Place and The Honourable Artilliary Club, before the band’s New Year’s Eve performance at Alton Towers.

We continue to receive great feedback for the band – we’re very proud to have them as part of the Madhen team. We’d would like to thank Jess, Kirsty, Haj, Ric, Curtis, Jon, Dave and Jason for their continued hard work and loyalty!

Madhen Productions over the festive period

Throughout December’s 17 events we’ve had our Production team (Madhen Productions) headed by Mark at our side – another massive asset to Madhen and another reason why we can maintain the highest standards throughout the busiest schedule. Sheer hard work and professionalism is standard procedure from Mark, Robin, Cieran, Emily and Sacha. Thanks guys!

New Year’s Eve

Our final booking for 2016 took us to Aberdeen to see in the New Year – Hogmanay at The Marcliffe Hotel. We were invited by hotel owner Stewart Spence, after seeing us perform at several corporate events there in the past. It was probably our most enjoyable end to a year / beginning of a new one so far!

The staff at the hotel really made us welcome and it was a real treat to share the entertainment duties with “London Essentials” who really fired up the guests before we took to the stage.

Thanks to all of you who have booked, danced to, worked with or have supported Madhen during the past 12 months. 2016 is already shaping up to be just as busy. And what’s more is we’re just about ready to rebrand and launch our new website, so watch this space!

Happy New Year!

Matthew, Helen, Andy, Paul and Martyn.
