The Wedding Party

As a band we perform at all kinds of events ranging from festivals, corporate events and private parties, with an ever growing number of weddings. A lot of our clients say that they are looking for something a bit different from your average ‘wedding band‘. We pride ourselves on our eclectic mix of music and receive many of our enquiries from people who have seen us at another event.
The Summer wedding season is definitely upon us and Madhen performed at a beautiful wedding in Buckinghamshire on 27th June. It was a great crowd and we received a lovely email from the groom thanking us:
Just wanted to thank you and the whole band for giving an absolutely amazing performance at our wedding on 27th June. You were so energetic and finely tuned, and got everyone up and dancing right from the very start till the very end. Em and I had a fantastic time, as well as everyone else – many people have commented on how good you were and think you even managed to get a few hardened non-dancers up on the dancefloor!
In particular thank you for doing our first song – I know you don’t normally do them – but it was perfect and think you gave everyone else the confidence to sing along for us, which Em and I loved.
Hope you also had a good time and that you all found your way home ok afterwards.
Thanks again,
Hugo
King of Pop

It was with great sadness that we heard about the death of Michael Jackson.
As a band we have always performed his music in both our So 80′s and Madhen sets. Since his death we have had more requests than ever to perform his material at events.
Individually we all have a wide range of musical tastes and influences, but share a love and passion for Michael’s music and his skills as a true entertainer.
Jackson had a notable impact on music and culture throughout the world. He broke down racial barriers, transformed the art of the music video and paved the way for modern pop music.
In late 2007, Jackson said the following of his work and future influence, “Music has been my outlet, my gift to all of the lovers in this world. Through it, my music, I know I will live forever.”
Ayr Rocks!

The Scizzor Sisterz went down at storm at the Saints & Sinners evening at Ayr Racecourse. We travelled up in our very own tour bus which was highly entertaining. Once the races were over we performed in the horse-shoe suite to a jam-packed audience who were cheering before we’d even started! Much praise was received as we left the building and tried to leave. Unfortunately our amazing tour bus had a flat battery!
Quote from the Carrick Gazette:
The evening kicked off with the first race at 6.20pm, and ended with an outstanding performance by Scissor Sisters tribute band, The Scizzor Sisterz.
Hey Mr DJ…

We spent two days in Quad Studios Leicester in June, rehearsing and working on our new Madhen set which includes DJ Justin Charles.
We’ve added some new material and Justin mixes within this set.
There is a mash-up of:
- Seven Nation Army (White Stripes)
- Let’s Dance (David Bowie)
- Don’t Cha (Pussycat Dolls)
- SexyBack (Justin Timberlake)
Madonna’s ‘Music’ is mashed-up with Eric Prydz’s awesome dance floor anthem ‘Pjanoo’ and The Trammps ‘Disco Inferno’
We’ve tweaked our set and are looking into adding plenty more tracks over the next few months including a mash-up of The Ting Tings Vs. U2 Vs. Toni Basil!
We’re very excited by it all!
